Every month I choose a member to be 'player of the month', they receive a goody bag and a spot on this page! I have over 200 members to choose from each month so it's a great achievement to be picked. I choose the player who I think has improved the most and shown enthusiasm and a good work ethic.

Player of the month goes to Jessica, one of my longest Smashit members. She has been helping me out with the Smashit Minis, teaching them serves and improving their footwork on the court. Jessica's enthusiasm for the sport is great, she is always smiling and eager to learn new skills, a real asset to Smashit.

Due to the Corona virus outbreak my clubs haven't been able to run with leisure centres being closed. However I have been setting challenges for the SMASHIT juniors throughout isolation. Izy has taken part in all the challenges set as well as sending me videos of her practicing in the garden. She mastered the first trick shot challenge super quickly. Keep up the enthusiasm and work ethic!

Unfortunately Covid 19 means leisure centres are still shut however Badminton England have allowed outdoor 1-1 coaching sessions in a public space! Seb has been eager to continue badminton outside and has been working hard in our individual sessions (we have been blessed with beautiful weather)! Keep up the hard work in the garden and in our sessions, well done!

Hopefully this will be the last month of leisure centers being shut! I have been busy running 1-1 and group sessions outdoors. The player of the month goes to Sam for giving 110% at the junior bootcamp sessions I have been running. Sam learnt the circuit exercises quickly, eager to improve his fitness and improved his balance on the balance discs! Wobbly to start with but with practice he can now jump and balance on them!

Emily has been working very hard in her 1-1 coaching sessions as well as in the junior groups. Not too long ago Emily wasn't confident high serving in singles as the height, depth and consistency wasn't quite there...however with her perseverance and hard work she is now confident with high serving to the back (and is very good at it now!) Never give up...

Abhinaya is my August player of the month. She has come on leaps and bounds in the last year. She is always so enthusiastic and eager to improve. She is a quick learner and practices at home away from the sessions and it really shows! Shes mastered the grip and also the high serve and able to keep rallies going for much longer, really impressed. Keep up the hard work!

Leighton is my September player of the month. He has been attending a lot of sessions in lockdown and has come on well. He is one of the junior ambassadors this block, he follows my instructions well and works hard in his session.

Florin is my October player of the month. He attends two of my junior clubs and always shows great enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. He always brings a positive attitude to the sessions and helps out whenever he can, a joy to have!

Estelle is my January player of the month. Despite my sessions on hold due to Covid 19 I have been running fun challenges, quizzes and games throughout lockdown. Estelle has shown great enthusiasm in these organised zooms winning one of the quizzes we did and also bingo as well as showing me a cool magic trick!

Dexter is June player of the month as he has been working extremely hard in his 1-1 sessions as well as clubnights.
