Huge congratulations to the U14 team for winning the tournament held in Ware, Hertfordshire. 14 clubs entered in total and for all but one of these players it was their first time playing in a tournament, very proud coach!

A team of 8 SMASHIT juniors went to Birmingham to watch a world tour event for the semi-finals day. The standard was world class and we all had an amazing day watching the games, the skills these top players had was unreal! Looking forward to taking more juniors next year!

We ran our own SMASHIT tournament for the first time open to all non county players across Hertfordshire and it was such a success! Excited to put together junior leagues from September inviting all junior badminton clubs to play in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire counties.
The leagues will give players the opportunity to play competitive badminton against other clubs-singles and doubles!

One of our juniors created this amazing shuttlecock dress out of my old shuttles. She had to create a costume for her schools recycled fashion show, how amazing does it look!

Our SMASHIT League kicked off this month, 32 players across 4 teams played and it was so good to see close friendly but competitive games! Trying to create more opportunities locally for the juniors.

To kickstart this new year I won Badminton England 'coach of the year 2023' award!!! I receive my trophy on semi finals day at the Yonex All England in March which will be very exciting, it is lovely to have the recognition of all the hard work I do!

This half term we had a very fun inter-club match where all my different junior clubs came together and played a friendly match. 32 players played and it was a great chance to meet fellow members from other clubs within SMASHIT.

This month we ran our annual non county tournament, we added an extra age group, 8 events, 87 entries and 234 matches!! Had a successful day full of great badminton and lots of happy faces.

Our annual P&C tournament was great fun, we had 26 teams entering this year. Well done to our minis winners Ben & Steve and our juniors winners Dan & Charlie
TRIP TO THE NATIONAL BADMINTON CENTER

I took some juniors and parents to the national badminton centre in Milton Keynes to watch the senior England squads train. It was a great experience to see the level of training, footwork and dedication in order to play professionally. We got the chance to do a Q&A with some of the players!
5 YEAR SMASHIT ANNIVERSARY

This marks the 5 year anniversary of SMASHIT! We have come such a long way and have expanded beyond belief, thank you to everyone who has been part of this crazy journey. I can't wait to see what the next 5 years brings.
